EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

January 13, 2023, NY, NY – Service providers have faced significant challenges the past three years, such as changing employment landscape; back-to-back health emergencies; the
digitalization of human interactions; increased and different expressions of xenophobia and homophobia in different private and public spaces, criminality rates, economic downturn, and its
impacts, while facing diminished resources to meet higher demands. These challenges present community-based organizations the need and opportunity to re-think, re-strategize, and re-build
towards a current, timely, relevant, responsive, and integral approach to services and interventions that address environmental, community and individual level needs and social determinants of health.

HAF and its affiliates (Latino Pride Center (LPC) and Queens Pride House (QPH) seek to address these challenges by re-structuring its programming and the organization. To this end, we seek
to fill several vacancies with fresh talent and career-oriented professionals. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with knowledge, practical experience, and genuine interest to participate in
the conceptualization, design and implementation of cutting-edge programs and services to support our vision of building a strong community of Healthy, Sexy and Proud Latino Men Who Love Men (MLM).

It is not just HIV: HAF firmly believes the HIV epidemic must and can end in the not-so-distant future. However, continuing to provide services to men who love men (MLM) purely in the context
of HIV is stigmatizing and ineffective. Addressing sexual health and other social disparities among MLM merits a dramatic shift from current solely HIV-centered practices. It requires dealing with
the social determinants of health and broader social issues that affect the population, while employing a more holistic, HIV neutral and sex-positive approach. We must also support the
psycho-social needs of MLM and create opportunities to build a more self-supporting community.

These efforts must aim to contribute to the eradication of the underlying factors that cause dismally poor health and social outcomes for MLM. Homophobia, racism, discrimination, oppression, poor access to care, minority stress, trauma, among other issues, are what drives the spread of HIV and other poor health outcomes. With this in mind, we are seeking individuals to join our team in charting a new course as we continue re-purposing our programming and services for Latino MLM. If you are ready to lead as well as to follow with a genuine interest in making a difference, do not hesitate to apply. The Latino Men Who Love Men Network needs your talent!
