For Immediate Release June 15, 2011 Media Contact: Heriberto Sanchez Soto 212-563-4500 Ext 306 email@example.com Nueva York, NY, June 15, 2011 – The Hispanic AIDS Forum (HAF) steadfastly supports the marriage equality for lesbians and gays as a basic human right. In the 25 years serving the gay Latino community in New York, we have witnessed how discrimination harms individuals, tears families apart, and fosters violence in our society. HAF applauds the courage and the leadership of Governor Cuomo in introducing the Marriage Equality bill which will eventually grant the legal right to marriage to all New Yorkers regardless of their sexual orientation. HAF supports the Governor and the bill unequivocally. “As a gay man, I am filled with joy in the hope that I’ll go to sleep on June 20th with the knowledge that reason and justice have triumphed over bigotry and oppression directed at homosexuals”, said Heriberto Sanchez Soto, HAF’s Executive Director.
